Fatal Accident on 101 this Morning – Roads are Slick, Be Careful!

At approximately 3:00 a.m. this morning there was a fatal collision on the 101 and Guadalupe.  While the article I found on line doesn’t fully explain what exactly happened, I heard on the radio this morning that a driver of a 2007 black Chevy Tahoe was traveling at approximately 100 miles per  hour when he lost control of his vehicle and collided into the rear of a vehicle carrying four people.  Allegedly, the at fault driver fled the scene of the accident and is now on the lam. One of the passengers of the vehicle that was hit was dead when police arrived, the other two passengers were taken to a local hospital and are expected to survive.

At this time, the police do not know if alcohol was a factor, but attribute the accident to the high rate of speed coupled with the wet roads. As a personal injury attorney, my job is to help people who have been injured in a car accident. I take this job seriously and love what I do.  In this particular case, if the at fault driver is never found, there is no way to pursue a personal injury claim against him.  This, however, does not mean the injured parties do not have a case.  If the owner of the vehicle they were traveling in had uninsured motorist coverage – or if the passengers had uninsured coverage on their personal vehicles, we can pursue a personal injury claim.

Insurance policies can be difficult to interpret.  This is why you need the assistance of an experienced personal injury lawyer to help review insurance policies, collect medical records, and fight the insurance company.  We make the process as easy as possible.  Call an experienced car accident lawyer at Matthew Lopez Law 24/7 to discuss your case for free.
